About this competition
The twentieth edition of India's long-running environmental moot, run by the Moot Court Association at the School of Excellence in Law, TNDALU, and presented by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board. Prize pool of Rs 2,30,000, plus five ever-rolling trophies introduced this year, each named for a figure of the Bench or Bar. The qualifier is scored out of 100 — 60 for memorials and 40 for a proctored online Researcher's Assessment — and the top 24 teams reach the oral rounds, held online on 12 and 13 December 2026. The last four argue in person in Chennai on 9 January 2027, with stay, meals and local transport provided and AC three-tier rail fare reimbursed up to Rs 1,500 per person each way. Every participant gets an e-certificate. Teams completing final registration before 14 November 2026 get a month of SCC Online access. Registration runs through the EnviroPort portal; proposition queries go to the Prop Clarification Desk there. The organisers state that no extensions will be granted to any calendar date.
